Behavioral Health Services

Located at The Seton Center, 530 Main Avenue, in Passaic, NJ, St. Mary’s General Hospital Behavioral Health Services provides a wide range of mental health programs and facilities enabling clients (children, adolescents, and adults) to function productively and independently. The primary goal of our services is to assist clients in reaching and maintaining their highest level of function psychologically, socially, vocationally, and economically. Our behavioral health programs feature Outpatient, Outreach, and Psychiatric Residential Services.

OUTPATIENT SERVICES

Adolescent Wellness and Recovery Education (AWARE)

Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. │ 973-470-3176

An after-school structured treatment program for adolescents, age 11 to 17, who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization.

Services include: psychiatric assessment, group therapy, art therapy, and medication monitoring.

Program for Enhancement, Acceptance, Creativity & Empowerment (PEACE)

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. │ 973-470-3176

A traditional day program for adolescents, age 11 to 17, who are at risk for psychiatric hospitalization.

Services include: psychiatric assessment, group therapy, art therapy, medication monitoring, along with educational services and daily lunch.

Outpatient Services (OPD)

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. │ 973-470-3514

Providing a full range of clinical services for adults, adolescents, and children.

Services include: psychiatric assessment, individual/group therapy, and medication monitoring.

Program for Outpatient Wellness, Enrichment & Recovery (POWER)

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. │ 973-470-3100

Intensive outpatient treatment and support services for adults experiencing acute emotional distress who are at risk of hospitalization.

Provides rapid access to treatment and flexible service design, focused on wellness and recovery principles.

Services include: psychiatric assessment, group and family therapy, medication monitoring, and case management services.

IM Medication Clinic

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. │ 973-470-3521

Provides psychiatric medication injections.

OUTREACH SERVICES

Justice Involved Services

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. │ 973-470-3390

Provides assessment, referral and linkage services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Adult Transitional Residential Services

Operates 24 hours / 7 days a week │ 973-470-3507

A supportive, educational, and rehabilitative residential stay to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness.

14 Level-A beds providing 24-hour supervision transitional residential services.

8 Level-B beds providing semi-supervised transitional residential services.

Short-Term Emergency Placement (STEP)

Operates 24 hours / 7 days a week │ 973-471-6907

Immediate crisis treatment and housing for individuals who require stabilization as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization.

4 beds providing short terms crisis residence for Passaic County Residents.

Specialized Residential Program (SRP)

Operates 24 hours / 7 days a week │ 973-473-6846

Permanent housing to individuals diagnosed with persistent mental illness.

Providing comprehensive mental health services to 55 residents.

Adolescent Psychiatric Community Home

Operates 24 hours / 7 days a week │ 973-773-3005

A 9-bed transitional treatment program service adolescents, age 11 – 17, with an average length of stay of 6 months.

Program designed to provide a therapeutic setting for adolescents with a primary psychiatric diagnosis, and aimed at reintegrating residents back into their natural environment.
